Phong's 29g reef

The 2 daylights (11k) are 24" and the actinics are 30". As far as I know, only helios make 30" bulbs. I love their superactincs but don't really like the par ratings on their daylights.

Oh yea. 4x24w T5 with individual reflectors over a 29g will allow you to keep anything you want thats in the trade. I even have a clam at the bottom of my tank thats doing great.

cool im thinking of doing a Blue Plus, a Actinic(uvl super actinic of actinic white) which one , whats the diff, Daylight or sun and 1 Aquablue.

Super actinic has that deep blue look where as the actinic white has a crisp white look. I'd personally would go for 2x24w UVL super actinic and 2x24w ATI aquablue. This will give you a slight blue tint like my tank. If you don't really like the blue tint, you can swap out of the the ATI aquablue for a GE 6500k daylight. Here are a couple of pics. The only diference between the two is I swapped out a aquablue for a GE 6500k daylight.

what reflectors you get MADIMOD. im thinking of getting all ice caps but was wondering if they will fit too. are the ballast in the tek retro better than the workhorse.

MADIMOD- What kind of reflectors are you using? Mine fit without any problems.

Toasty- You really shouldn't have a problem fitting all IC reflectors (great choice btw). You should double check for sure. Each one is 2.5" wide. As for comparing the two ballasts, I don't really know the answer. I had a couple WH5 lying around so I went with those. One of the things I really like about the WH5 is that they each can run 2,3, or 4 24w bulbs.

The efficiency will be the same as each bulb will be burning at 24w. The reason why I went with two is because then I can turn the actinics and daylights on at different times. I love looking at my tank with only the actinics on so it was a feature I must have. If you want, I can post of pic of only actinics on later tonight.

This is my lighting schedule:
Actinics on 2pm
Daylights on 3pm
Daylights off 12pm
Actinics off 1am

So you have a few hours til I get those pics to you;)
