Phosban Question

Anyway, this has been a real stressful battle with the algaes. Yesterday i got some phosban for the reactor and i transfer the carbon into a sock. It is alright if i use more than 50g for 50gallon of waters? My tank is only a 30gallon with a 5gallon sump. The algae is taking over the tank real fast. Wipe it down today, tomorrow it comes back right away.

Why transfer the carbon to a sock?

Put both the carbon and the phosban in the reactor, mix it if you'd like. You wont get better contact time in the sock as you would in the phosban reactor.

Do a water change.

What kind of lights do you have? Whats your photo period? How old are the bulbs?

So you have any flow in the tank? Any skimmers?

We need more info.

Take a look there. Josh here had a similar problem to you and took care of his problem. Though it wasnt easy I can tell you that.

250DE halide. Runs for about 5 hours a day. Skimmer is non operational due to a broken pump.
