It all depends on what you want your phosphates at... You'll be hard pressed to get it below .03-.05 without using a phosphate reactor... But if you use a phosphate reactor, you won't get much grown out of your chaeto... Take the good with the bad...

can you really tell a difference when you're running it? i have a bunch of mangrove just kinda hanging out in my tank til the refugium is done for the 240, but i swear the water looked clearer after a couple days. how can you tell if you need a phosphate reactor? i bought a phos test, but, found out the day after i bought it that its useless. thanks!
