I'm running a Dual GFO reactor from BRS, I run there brand GFO pellets. I didn't notice much of a change at first. So I stepped up to there recommend amount. I'm starting to see now that the cyano is not coming back each day as thick as before. I think I started out with to small of an amount. I also noticed that the water is much more clear than before too.
There are several kinds of GFO and they have different properties. It is best to follow manufacture's instructions. The bulk version has a normal and high capacity GFO and they recommend 2 grams per gallon of the normal stuff and 1 gram per gallon for the high capacity.
I use the normal capacity per the recommended amounts and try to change it out every other month. It did help the cyano and hair algae or at least it really appeared to.
i changed up my flow some tonight . I think i will give that a week and see where that leaves me. Next step will be a reactor of some sort. I have been trying to maintain through good husbandtry instead of reactors and suppliments and additives. owell thanks guys!
