I have looked and looked and read other forums but everyone is all over the place. I just starting using Phosguard in place of GFO any pros or cons. Also (I know I know) my Lfs uses Phosguard for there show tanks and says his lasts 1-2 months before changing. Also what flow do I need to use for it tumble wise? Like I said mixed words from everyone. If it helps I am using the BRS dual reactor.

Been using it for close to 15 years. 1-3 months is about average life. You don't want it to tumble at all. Adjust the flow till it just starts to tumble a little on top then back off till tumble stops, done. It's important to rinse it with about a gallon or two of r/o or distilled water before use. The the waste water from rinsing can become very hot when it initially passes over the media. You don't want the dust in your tank or on your corals. Hope this helps.

Yhea, I did just that. I ran about 2g over it and still flushed it when I put it back in line to make sure I got as much out as I could Thank you for the reply

It will get chafed and release the broken down alumina into your water.
You don't want it accumulating in your tank and getting on corals.
