phosphate reactor for carbon

I run 2, one for phosban, one for carbon. I think they are good for carbon because you can see inside and are easy to fill/empty, as opposed to some cannister filters. I think just putting a bag of carbon in the sump doesn't work as well since the water not necessarily going through the bag of carbon as well as through the carbon in a reactor.

I run phosban in one, carbon in another. No complaints, just dont use marineland carbon - some of it floats, which isnt ideal in a reactor.

Can you mix both in a reactor; like a sandwich of carbon on the out side and phosban in the middle? Maybe separated by a filter pad?
Will this work? Is it all right to mix the two?

Thanks

I just got a TLF PhosBan from MD for 29.99. Great deal. The both look the same -- probably the same manufacturer.

Some do mix in the same reactor, but I don't. Phosban needs a lower flow so you it doesn't grind itself to a powder, and lasts longer than carbon.
