I was wondering if anyone has had problems with there clams while using a phosphate reactor. The last time i started to use phosphate remover (without a reactor) it seemed to be effecting my clams. i was also wondering if i could put phosphate remover in the bottom and carbon on the top of the reactor, so the carbon is last. hopefully catching anything leached from the phosphate remover. thanks for any advice

yes there have been problems. i have found that some clams developed a condition called Pinched Mantle, after using po4 removers or adding iron/trace elements to there tanks.

instead of putting both in the same reactor i would have a second reactor/ chamber of carbon so the 2 don't get mixed up and you can replace the carbon every 3 or 4 weeks.po4 removers can last months.
