I am currently using phosguard but heard it leaches aluminum. Can someone recommend anything else? Anyone have any info on the ferric oxide type phosphate removers?

Thanks!

calerpra is how i got rid of my phosphates......put it in ur refugium or just stik it inbetween rocks.....also if u hav alot of sand, sand holds phosphates try takin some out.....and clean ur glass alot cleanin up the alge build up on the glass helped lower my phosphates aswell

I use Rowaphos without any negative effects in my reef and excellent results on reducing my phosphates. It's the same type of material as phosguard.

I would not put Calerpa macroalgae into the main display - I have it in my refugium and I must thin it out every couple of weeks.

No its not. Phosguard is aluminum based, rowa is iron based.
