Phosphate Test-Kit?

What is a good accurate one? I was looking at the Salifert.

If you want an accurate test kit, look into the hanna colorimeter, hach, or lamotte. I believe the hanna will be the cheapest at around 180.

Elos > Salifert

I have both the Salifert and Elos phosphate test kits. The Elos has two advantages over the Salifert:
(1) The Elos has more color chart entries. For example, between 0 and 0.1 ppm, it has entries for 0, 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 ppm. The Salifert only has entries for 0, 0.03 and 0.1 ppm within that range.
(2) It is much easier to read the Elos color chart. The Salifert chart requires that you distinguish between shades of light blue. The Elos chart goes from light blue to dark purple.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of the Elos kit but at least you can easily determine the parts per million (ppm) from its color chart and test its accuracy. If you can't read the Salifert color chart to determine the ppm, you can't even measure its accuracy. Others on this forum have gone so far as to suggest buying a colorimeter to read the Salifert chart.

I have the Salifert.

I love Salifert test kits but this one i'm not that crazy about. The colors are just too close in color in my opinion

Even if your phos registers 0 on the salifert, you'll still get phos readings from the hanna. Out of all the salifert kits, i'd say the phos is the most inaccurate.
