phosphate

its considered on the high side, specially taking into account the error margin of the test kits.

0.03 should be your goal.

Thanks!

I am not even sure what is giving off phosphate or why my phosban isn't absorbing :(.

test the water coming out of the phosphate reactor, it should be zero.

perhaps you have po4 bonded to rocks and sand,

also siphoning out detritus helps alot with lowering po4 :)

Thanks!

It probably is absorbing it.

If you are feeding your fish anything or coral feed of any kind you are adding phosphate back in.

Also your PO4 test results will vary depending on when you last fed your tank.

Feed your tank and then do your PO4 test, it will be higher.

thanks for your response. the test was done prior to feeding. i agree that it is absorbing but
seems like the phosphate s more than what my reactor can handle or not tumbling fast enough. i am thinking the shelf rocks maybe leeching.

Just for discussion's sake, does anyone have any strategies for dealing with PO4 leaching? Aside from removing all rocks and putting in new.
