Hi, SPS Gurus!

Anyone here dose Phytoplankton or mix their fish's food with Selcon? If so, have you seen any negative effects on SPS?

Let me know,
Joey

I always mix enough selcon to make my masstick for the fish. Corals seem to love that stuff also as I see increased Pylop extension. And if you have a copperband he will most likely love it also!

You can dose Phytoplanton sure, not sure I really noticed anything when I did. Nothing negative at least.

Thanks. I have a 65g water volume tank and a Squamosa clam that's easily 10" long and 7" across and I don't feel there's enough biology for him so I dose 2ml of phyto twice a week.

My understanding is that when a clam gets that big they use mainly the light for their food/energy. I usually hear people supplementing Phyto on clams that are 3in or under.

But the phyto will help feed all the microfauna so I say you keep doing it, and at only 2ml in a 65 you shouldn't see any issues.

I dose phytoplankton every day in my tank, I notice only positives and no negatives from it. I also use Selecon and Vitachem on alternate days, with only positive results.
