Photo Stitch

Cancer Sucks
I thought this was kinda cool. I have Canon Photo Stitch software, but I've never tried it until today. It automatically merges photos to make one panoramic photo, and works amazingly well.

I started with these three photos, left, middle, and right:

180middle.jpg

180right.jpg

Two seconds later, I had this:

Just thought it was kinda cool. It was totally automatic and you can't see any seams at all.

LOL, this shows how 12 tangs would look in a 180!

Check out how the 4 tangs hang out together. There's no aggression at all.

That is what we have, did you use a tripod and move across the front?
What version of the software did you use and did you set the lens in any fassion?

I didn't use a tripod. I just moved 2 feet to the right for each picture. I didn't use any camera settings, just automatic.

I just wanted to check out the software. Maybe now I'll use the tripod and fine tune the settings to try to get a really nice pic.

The software is version 3.1.

Yeah I just checked mine and it is the same version, I played with the samples and it is pretty smooth.
Thanks for pointing this out, I use photoshop and frankly installed but never used the software

Mike, very cool. I will try to check out that software too.

My folks upgraded to a Nikon D200, so I borrowed it yesterday. I will be taking a crap-load of photos over the next few weeks.

I was gone for a week (asthma camp) and when I returned, the green hair algae started to bloom. I hope to curve this fast.

Anyhow, I am going to run out and buy a Sunpak Versi-pod today. It is a very light weight (will use it backpacking too) monopod, with a trisplit lower leg extension to function as a tripod. The advantage to this is that I like a monopod to lean in at th etank for macro shots, but it still has the ability to be setup as a mini-tripod. The leg extension is very compact too, so it does not take up too much space like a full-size tripod.

I will post pics later. Cost is $70

I like that, I think I'll get one. I've wanted a new tripod, mine only goes about 40" high and is flimsy.

Call around before you go shopping, or order online. They are new and I don't think many stores stick them yet. I bought the only one at Ritz. They do have the mag model in stock though, for $100. This store was at Tucson Mall.
