I posted this over in the lounge, but thought I'd pop in here & ask if anyone could assist.

this old couple was at the wedding reception I attended this weekend.
She's 89, he's 96. both are dear dear old friends of both families,
god mother & god father of one of the parents of the bride.

I'd like to clean it up a little & have a print made for them

mostly I'd like to get rid of the plant material to the right of the screen.

fixing skin & teeth would be a plus, but thats who they are, and I have no idea how much extra work that would entail

someone also suggested that the glass case & drink cup should go also.

if anyone is willing /able to fix this up, I'll leave it up to whoever does the work as to how much work gets done.

Thanks in advance,

Bart

As no one replied to your thread I'll just have a quick go at this one.
1st of all I'm using my laptop which is calibrated for my screen at home, in the office. so the colour correction I did could have some casts into it.
I did crop this picture a bit as it balances the subjects a bit more than the original in which the lady has a cut shoulder and the man has some additional space on his left. You might still like the composition of the original more however this crop takes out the chopped of hand as well as the cup, in addition to the parts of the plant which decresases the amount of processing you need to do on the plant.
It is very hard (at least for me) to clone it out perfectly but Iwas able of this in around 4-5 min.
working on the original could be easier as it allows you to zoom more and gives you more space to use as cloning sources whithout being far from the area you're treating which lessens the colour transition differences.
I did not do anything for teeth and skin as in my opinion it will not really copy the real persons and it also might disturb someone to modify his or her features as if they were a handicap...

Thank you for the time & effort, that is just what I had in mind
I'm sure they will like it

Feel free to email me the original if you fail to do it.
clone stamp tool does the job really nice but as I said just choose your cloning points to match the squares on his shirt and as close as possible to have the same shade of lighting.

the original is posted, it was taken as a jpeg, Since I don't yet have PS, I have not shot anything in raw

oh the learning curve of new toys!

thanks again

I know you mentioned that teeth and skin were secondary, but I thought I would play around with it since I am trying to learn to shop... Here is my correction of maroun.c's

lukinrats, nice work, thanks
I'll ask the wife which one she prefers to have printed & framed for them.
I think you maintained a good balance with the touch ups, not too much...

I see you're in the oil patch, what do you do?
I'm ex oilfield trash (late 70's thru mid 80's)

Wife & I both thank everyone that helped
She decided that we shouldn't send the one with the "defects" removed, as it might be taken the wrong way, but thats the one she wants printed for herself. I didn't realize it at the time, the old gal was wifeys kindergarden teacher (small towns!)

I work for an oilfield rental tool company... we rent equipment to Electric line, production services, coil tubing, slick line, just about every body really... We service the equipment on location, so it is hard to classify us as rentals alone... Most of our work is surface pressure related, and flowing back Fracs and testing wells before they go to production

Here is good oilfield joke:

An old southern coutry preacher from Georgia had a teenage son named David and it was getting time the boy should give some thought to choosing a profession.

Like many young men the boy didn't relly know what he wanted to do, and he didn't seem to concerned about it.

One day, while the boy was away at school, his father decided to try an experiment. He went into the boy's room and placed on his study table four objects:

-Bible
-silver dollar
-bottle of whiskey
-playboy magazine

I'll just hide behind the door, 'the old preacher said to himself', and when he comes home , Ill see which object he picks up.
If it's the bible, he is going to be a preacher like me, and what a blessing that would be!

If he picks up the dollar, he will be in business and that would be OK

But if he picks up the bottle, then he is going to be a no-good drunkard, and, Lord, what a shame that would be

and worst of all, if he picks up that magazine, then he is going to be a skirt chasin bum.

The old man waited anxiously, and soon heard his son's footsteps as he entered the house whistling and headed for his room. The boy tossed his books on the bed, and as he turned to leave the room he spotted the objects on the table. With curiosity in his eye, he walked over to inspect them.

Finally, he picked up the Bible and placed it under his arm. He picked up the silver dollar and dropped it into his pocket. He uncorked the bottle and took a big drink while he admired this month's Centerfold.

"Lord have mercy," The old preacher said in disgust, he's going to be in the Oilfield.

 thats classic oilfield humor

I chased rigs in the Gulf, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, California into the Pacific (offshore CA), North Atlantic, (Newfoundland) and about a year & a half in Indonesia & Singapore
Started as a roustabout , spent most of my time between driller & tool pusher

Never know, you may have used some of my equipment up there in Newfoundland, and Louisiana... I know we sent stuff to NF, and we always send it to LA... It prob. would have been a dull reddish color when you were working, and would have been from Mississippi Wireline Rentals... Dont let that name deceive you, we have drilling tools as well
