Thank you all....saw him at an LFS (same one who finally found me my golden puffer) and couldn't resist. So far we love him. He was my one of my "holy grail" fish....peaceful, doesn't get TOO big (a relative term w' groupers), highly attractive, hearty, and unique. If anyone need specifics on the LFS pm me and I'll be happy to let you know more. (can't plug anyone in public I'm told)

Fishbase.org says they max about 12-15" in the wild. They are quite rare in the pet trade as they are elusive in the wild and tend towards deeper shelves. This makes it a real PITA for divers to catch. That said, they are a happy and hearty in a home aquarium.

Unfortunately they are not a "starter" fish price ($250 +) but I'd rather have less fish for a bit more each that I REALLY want/like than a crowd of ones that are okay.

In my experience, the equipment to keep a fish properly is more expensive than the fish by far. As such it makes more sense to me to get a couple that are my fav's than to take home everything that looks cute. (a tough test of willpower sometimes)
