That's a gorgeous tank. Nice clowns too of course ;) I like the matching misbars.

Is that a Vlamingi in there?! I love those guys, but they eat and eat and eat...

i got them at a heck of a deal a petco had them and the guy who worked there wanted them sold and sold them two for one and i got the pair for $20

They wanted nothing to do with the rbta for the first 3 months. I thought they may be developmentaly slow, maybe cooked in shipment. The short bus riders of the clownfish world. I had all but given up, then they hung around it and postured, and about a week after that they moved in and live in it.

Nice clowns!

What kind of blacks are those? I just picked up two juvenile black occelaris that are completely black already, yet only 1.25 - 1.5 inches long.

Very nice clowns / BTA and the whole tank for that matter.

Funky_Fish14: They are Ocellaris. Some get completely black fast and some take years.

As Rkelman said, they are the black variant of Amphiprion ocellaris. The variety originates from Northern Australia but most animals in the trade are captive-bred. They're definitely one of my favorites :)

Very Nice! I too have black clowns we got ours from a local breeder. Ours our perfect solid black with perfect striping. We paid $40 a piece so you got a smoking deal if you got the pair for $20. Ours took right to a rbta. they kept orange noses for about 3 months. Supposedly lighting and food plays a role with how black they get, the better the diet the more likely to be solid black. They are awesome looking fish, we soon hope to be breeding them.
Best of luck, nice looking tank.

Nice fish. I don't believe the black face progression has anything to do with diet or lighting (or at least not much) They get it when they start to get older usually and it seems to be genetics when / if they go fully black. I'm basing this on my "small" test group of 2500 in the basement :)
