LOL I think you're addicted ;) I'm starting to think ricordeas are more addicting than crack. I came inches away from buying some today that were slightly out of my price range. It took a lot of restraint to say no to myself, and I'm somewhat worried I'll go back there tomorrow and get them.

Nice new additions though!

GO BACK! Yes, it is a terrible addiction. When I head to the LRS and know there are new rics there my heart starts pounding, traffic around me begins to slow down and stop lights take longer than usual. I just know someone is there buying them before I can get there.
I found these at Petland, which I haven't ever bought anything there as the corals look terrible after a few days in the tanks, only dog food.
I grabbed a bunch of cans of Natural Balance (excellent dog food) and worked my way over to the fish area when I noticed the person in charge of that dept. was unpacking new arrivals and these yumas. He told me they were $17.99 each and I made a sound signifying I was not impressed.
For the next 10 minutes while he went to turn in and record his paper work I stood sweating with my heart pounding daring anyone to look into the tank. I fianally got another employee to go and hunt him down and get his *** back there. Master Card-thanks for being there.

I would go back and get them, but they were $60 for 2 mildly pink ones (mostly gray with light pink tips) and they looked in somewhat bad shape and partially bleached. I think they would likely recover but I'm not taking the risk for $60 right now :(

No doubt there. Maybe you could start a reefaholic club that could eventually streatch across the nation. It could focus on things like suffering the withdraws of staying away from LRS new arrival days and paying bills and buying food before heading directly to the LRS on paydays, things like that. I know several people it would help.
I myself don't have a problem, and all those around me who are saying otherwise are all just against me. :hmm2:
Here is the first after couple days. I Think it is going to be one of my favs.

Besides a few odds and ends I hope to have a ricordia tank. I have seen a few really nice ones here and thier care seems to be undemanding. Here's one of the other yumas after a few days. Right now I have them in a 20 gl but within the next week they will all be going into a Minibow 5gl.

It is drilled with 8gl sump and 3gl fuge w/chaeto. The 5gl is running with the existing sump that the 20 in on, but that will be broken down soon and I am thinking filling it with zoanthids.
Nanos for a while yet.

Mike you've got to keep me up to speed with this project. I've got a minibow 5 in the office with a beta and plastic plant in it now. I'd love to do something salt in it (although the kids would kill me).

What are you using for a pump and what have you done with the lighting?

For all you Ricordia addicts - the one below had to be 4 inches across, unfortunately its not in my tank or for sale. Spotted it in about 50 feet of water off the coast of Belize. It was the first time I have seen one in the wild, signaled my dive buddy over to see it, he shrugged his shoulders like - big deal find me a shark!!!

The pump is a Maxijet1200 in the sump to the return. I don't know if this is going to be enough flow for the rics once it reaches the return though. I did a test water fill and run, but couldn't really tell and probably won't know till I have rics in and see their reaction.
The lighting is a modified 2x36wtPC 50/50 but an Odyssea 24wt 13" lightfixture with flip-up legs fits perfectly on the 5gl minibow. It would be enough light for softies, but my rics are used to MH so I did this, though the bulbs stick out over the end.
I have an order in with Marine Depot for the 70wt Viper clamp on MH and will probably go this route.
I personally wouldn't run a coral tank this size without a sump or fuge. Auto top-off would be a hassel and chemistry problems would arise without daily water changes, depending on bio-load.
To each his/her own though. JMO.
