Picked up some very cool zoas tonight at the Critter..

Got tubes?
Hey all!

I swear when I went in I was only intending to get an AquaLifter for my new kalk reactor! :D

BUT... since it was 25% off, why not look around, right?

So I'm just browsing... for some ridiculous reason I'm looking at the corals. Then some zoas catch my eye. I look a little closer, and to make a long story short, they were AMAZING! They seriously should have been on a Skittles package! They had green skirts, I think a blue ring on the outside, then red, orange, green again, and a purple mouth or something like that. Honestly! Not that those freakin' solaris' don't help... but you know. The problem was that there were 3 polyps and they were kind of growing on the egg crate. I asked the first employee who came up to me (first time I had seen him there, but he was EXTREMELY helpful and nice) if we could get them. He explained to me they're growing on the egg crate, probably not. So I begged... because I really wanted these zoas! He was very nice and got some pliers and very, very carefully pried them off. I knew to get out then before I saw something else... to the checkout I went! :D He didn't even charge me for them because he said he wasn't sure they would live, but he got them out PERFECTLY. They opened up no more than an hour after I got home... all the way! Unfortunately they look more like Eagle Eyes in my tank at this point as the colors under my NO lights aren't impressive or defined... but the T5s come in on Thursday. :D :D :D Hopefully that should help!

Anyway, sorry for a long story but two points: A) Dude was extremely nice and helped me out and B) I wish you guys could see these things!

Lastly... I've got a feeling those Solaris' units help sell their corals as much as anything else! I tell myself in the store every time I'm in there "It won't look the same at home" but I still buy stuff anyway...

Thanks for reading my rambling if you got this far. :D

Dibs on the first frags from those.
I know exactly the ones you're talking about. They were partially under a rock.
I couldn't find anyone willing to scrap them off for me.

EXACTLY! They were partially under that rock. Did you see the same thing I did? The different rings of colors? I'm hoping they'll show up similarly when I get my T5s.

Hopefully they'll grow like crazy! :)

Yeah.....they had a 'eagle eye look' to them, but they were definitely different.

Your Welcome....LOL

Bob: Hey man! My tank is literally just about completely taken down right now, but maybe after I get my T5s in they'll look somewhat like they did in the store. ;)

Thanks Mike! lol If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have found them! :D

I sure hope they do......because, if they don't, I got a feeling it'll cost us both 'more $$$' in new lighting. :(

I know, I know, Gary. :)

Just a few more days... wait till I get my T5s and I'll see if pics with a 420nm will help show the bands. :D
