Hi i read about using picking lime in kalk reactors , the dose its 1 to 2 teaspoons per gallon is about right.

my question is , what he is mean ( 1 to 2 teaspoons per gallon ) !

did he mean tank size or Kalk reactor size ?

Reactor size, not tank size.

I use one teaspoon of lime per gallon of topoff water that I slowly drip into the tank over the course of a day.

I use a dosing pump on a controller. I mix a Kalk slurry solution at 1 teaspoon per gallon of top-off water. The controller doses as necessary to maintain preset ph and water level parameters. It works great.

Don't get confused between reactor and top-off values.

If you are dosing kalk via top-off, kalk saturates at 2 tsp per gallon. Adding more than that won't do anything since the excess can't dissolve. You may want to add less than 2 tsp per gallon, depending on your tanks needs.

If you are using a kalk reactor, you'll load the reactor with a lot of kalk (several cups) and the fresh water passing through the reactor will achieve saturation when the stirrer periodically does it's thing.
