If you look in the chemistry on here there's countless articles on using limewater. I read many posts and articles before setting up my kalk setup and I can say my calcium stays at 450ppm and I have no calcium reactor and don't dose 2 part (except part 1 & 3 in my water change water) and I have a SPS dominated tank.
The biggest problem I had to overcome was finding a reliable way to dose the saturated limewater. Several tries and 125 bucks later, I went with a peristaltic pump.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Victor at WWC is the one that turned me on to dosing limewater only and it's working like a champ. Plus I saved $600 plus on not buying a Ca reactor.
