ouch i see that ....that is aiptasia...dude get rid of them now....dont listen to anyone that tells you to get a copperband butterfly for them(this is off topic but you need to do somehting and someone will tell you this)

go get a 4 or 5 peppermint shrimp now...but those things are so big they might be munching for years if at all..do something

also with that many coral are you going to have grow out room?

I don't think even peppermints will help at that size. I would kalk paste the big ones to help the pepperment shrimp along, they seem to prefer to eat small ones. BTW, nice tank I like the way it is aquascaped. Low minimal rock work.

I have 4 huge peppermint shrimp, that have been eating the aipstasia everynight. I just added a Copperband Butterfly so it should be bye bye pretty soon, if not I'll use the joe's juice.
Thanks, I kept the rock work low so the corals will have the most growing room.

Wow, your yellow tangs will accept a copperband without going crazy?

If it were in my tank my tang would kill the copperband probably less than a day.

looking good.....yea how did you introduce the CBB with the yellow tangs....the plastic box trick or did you change the rockwork around ?

I've never heard of issues with the YT and Copperband. I've done it twice with no issues ever.

You can't post pics without a FTS!

I had no problem with my yellow tang & CBB either and didn't change anything when introducing the CBB.

Did have problem with CBB when aiptasia was gone, CBB died.

The fish

The fish

Yes my clown is big, I have had her for 11 years, she's been through 2 males already She's about 4 inches long.
My 3 Tang's are 4-5 inches, they were a little aggressive towards the Copperband at first, but with 3 tang's (2males and 1 female) they quickly lost interest in the Copperband. I also fed them at the same time when I introduced the new fish.
At the moment I'm concentrated on Aiptasia destruction through natural means ( introduction of natural predators).
I'm going to post bi monthly pics of the corals showing their growth.

Yellow Tang's sexing

Yellow Tang's sexing

How are you sexing these yellow tangs?

If you look at this pic, the Tang all the way to the left is the male, and the 2 Tang's to the right , the male is on top, and the female is on the bottom.
The way I was able to tell is that both male's stay on their sides of the tank and when they come to the center they both stop and posture each other, the female who has a rounded dorsal fin just swim's feely from male to male to both sides of the tank with no aggression.
Before I added the 2nd male, the original 2 Tang's were each other's shadow.
