So i've come across a few goodies this week :) Must warn the pictures are pretty bad. they are in holding tanks which are treated with furazone green. And my camera sucks and the lights are just 2 lightbulbs on the ceiling of the garage.
first off is a golden dwarf eel (my favorite eel/fish in general i think)

ill try to get better pics :)

you not planning on putting them in the same tank.... right
The dragon moray will make short work of any smaller fish or eel. Ive witnessed dragon eels take down fish that I was amazed.
While I've never see a golden back trigger (it looks like a sargassum to me), I would assume its a planktonic feeder and wont be very aggressive

no they will find seperate homes somewhere... The goldenback is in a 65 gallon by itself(not permanent home - hes being sold hopefully)
I've witnessed dragons take down small fish as well, but i've also witnessed them be housed with gobies with no problems.
The goldenback is most definitely not a sargassum. Im in Hawaii and sargassums are in the atlantic. Plus, sargassums look nothing like this.. :)

i may be trading the dragon for a few goodies (pair of crosshatches and a few more dwarfs) so we will see what happens. I thought about keeping it, but i have no time!

I picked up the dragon locally at a LFS in which i buy 1000's of dollars of fish from so i got a real good deal :)

I purcahsed, not to long ago, a small Dragon eel, about the same size as the one in the picture and in about 6 months it has grow quite abit. So they don't stay small for long.

It's always a risk to put eels together though Dragon eel seem to be not as aggressive as some of the other eels.

FWIW I seem the goldenback trigger and I'm not a big fan of it specially for the price tag that comes with it, which can be around $1,000.

i personally like crosshatches better, but this guy is just so cool. He already eats shrimp out of my hands!

marrone - how much did you pay for the small dragon? (if you dont mind me asking)

I got it for $500 shipped, which is a pretty good price. The smaller ones seem to go for a lot more as I've seen larger ones for $400-$450, I've also seen them for over $1,000. I think it would be cheapier out in Cal or Hawaii.

All the Goldenback that I've seen have all been very larger, atleast 7"+, but I think I've only seen 2 personally and about 4 others online though they seem to be showing up more and more lately.
