Im planning on getting a mantis 3-4 inches but I only have a 5.5 gallon I would like to make it look decent without adding corals and such could someone with a smaller (not 20gallons or higher) tank show me there aquascaping? It would be greatly appreciated.

also can you mix serpent and brittle stars with mantis shrimp I would like to get one.

Only if you want the stars to end up as food.

At least the mantis in my tank killed my serpent star. YMMV

thank you is that the only one because I wanted either a Smithii or a wennerae. the site only shows the wennerae. but thanks I may just get this one.

I try to keep his tank well stocked with astrea snails and small hermits just to keep his dactyls(sp?) active. But as for frozen he loves scallops, krill, mysids and it's funny as hell to see him chase cyclopeeze around the tank. I heard they also like silversides but I haven't tried that yet.

I haven't found a crab that Tim hasn't 'enjoyed.' Otherwise leviathan is on the money with astrea snails and I'd add ceriths and nassarius as well to the list. For meals inbetween the moving targets I've found that Tim goes crazy for the HBH Shrimp Pellets.

Sorry, Codeman00 I've been hanging out too much in the nano reef forum.:) That's where I got the "MB" from. It stands for Mini-Bow. You can find them at Petsmart, Petco, or pretty much any decent aquarium supply store. The cheapest I've ever seen them is at Wal-Mart, you can't beat 35 bucks. They come in a few different sizes, 2.5 gallons, 5gal(which is the one I have), and a 7 gal. The 2.5 and the 5 are acrylic, all of the 7's I've seen are glass. They come in a bunch of different colors too. I think they're cool cause you you can pretty much mod them anyway you want to suit your needs. They come with a crappy Whisper internal filter, I just ripped the pump off and glued on a suction cup and bada-boom, instant powerhead. Then I added a decent HOB filter and upgraded the lighting to a 20 watt pc bulb. That's all I did but I've seen everything from adding moonlights to the hood to adding a spraybar for a wavemaker. And even then when all is said and done you'll probably still end up spending less than if you purchased one of those "complete systems" like the Nano-cube or Aquapod.
