The white light of the flash shows there real colors. I have found the actinics and blue spectrum 10,000k bulbs really wash out the natural colors in my pics. Although, reflection from the flach on the glass can kill a good shot too.

Minimize the reflection by not shooting straight-on to the glass. If you point it down, the light will not hit the lens. If the flash it fixed above the lens, rotate the camera so the flash is to the side of the lens.

If you can get your hands on one, a slave flash from above works great too. The slave flashes when the camera's flash goes off.
