Does anyone else have a piece that they can repost with a picture. My pictures are crappy from my phone. One is with flash and one is without. I have searched R/C and have not found much info on them. What is Flow, feed, lighting, and placement for this type of coral? I thought it was more like a brain maze, but it doesnt reflect it at the moment. Thanks for the help.

Also the inner eyes are pink, but around the edges are more of a neon green color. Is that normal? Can i expect more colors from this? 2x150MH pheonix 16k

In regards to placement in tank: You'd benefit from a mid-level placement, but I would start it out low in the tank so it acclimates to the light properly. Keep away from other corals: it'll sting the tar outta them. I'd be most concerned about this aspect of keeping that coral, as when it takes off, it will start encrusting everything in the surrounding area.

In regards to lighting: You should do fine with the lighting type that you are currently supplying

In regards to flow: Your flow shouldn't be direct, but you'd probably get good results from moderately strong water movement around the animal.

Feeding: You could probably spot feed and see some accelerated growth. Some people feed with pellets or meatier frozen foods such as mysis or krill. I personally cut flow to the return and circulation pumps when feeding my LPS.

Just my 2 cents. It's a relatively hardy animal as long as your parameters are stable.

Hope this helps. I'm sorry nobody responded to your posts sooner!

After a few years in a friends tank, it's back. Color has changed a little now green mouths, and green ridges. This picture is with 2 super atinic, coral plus and purple plus. MH'S or off. Grows extremely slow. I want to get vivid colors back.

Are super actinic the purple ones? Those don't do much of anything in a 4-bulb. I had pretty good results in a 4 bulb with 3 x ATI Blue plus and 1 x coral/purple plus...

Hard to tell but the two inner bulbs (darker) are the super atinic, far left it coral plus and far right is purple plus.

If you mean the Giesemann super actinics then those aren't what you want, neither is adding both purple plus and coral plus. Honestly that combo is pretty much guaranteed to make your corals lose color... I'd recommend either 3 ATI blue plus and 1 coral or purple plus, or just 4 ATI blue plus.
