Anyone out there with experience with this fish in a reef? Tank is mainly sps with no inverts. Only fear is the large squamosa clam and some acans.
Thanks in advance...

well i currently hav one in my 100 gallon tank. i untroduced him last to the tank and he never attacked anything. not even the small cleaner shrimp i had in there. mine is a really calm bold fish. he is always ouut swimming even when strangers approach the tank. if u get one, u'll really like this fish.

Thanks. Any pics?

I have had mine for about 4 months now and he occasionally helps himself to a midnight snack on a snail but for the most part he has left all coral alone. I would not trust him with any clam, asking for trouble. Could be fine then one day, bam, gone. Mine is in a 90g corner tank and seems to pace the glass a lot. I am working on a bigger setup but it is slow going so I might have to re-home it soon. Lately I have been thinking that he dosnt do this unless I am there because he thinks I am going to feed him, if I peek around the corner at the tank he is off grazing or chasing other fish around.

Thank you. What makes you think that he will touch the clam if he hasn't touched anything?

They'll usually be OK, especially if well fed. Of course, there are some that will decide to sample the clam and some corals. It's tough to predict.

Mine didn't bother anything but I wouldn't trust a clam with a trigger either. That's an expensive snack if he decides to taste it and most triggers love clam.

Well I guess I will find out on my own now. Just picked one up. The color changing due to mood, I guess, is incredible. I saw him change from the regular to white. He is so sociable. Already started to eat mysis and even nori.
I did a search and did not run into anyone who had any issues whatsoever with the pink tail.
