iam thinking of putting 1 1/2-2" PVC pipes under my sand in my 75g tank for a blue/black ribbon eel to live in but if iam not succesfull with the eel(i know about the feeding problems with these guys and have afew ideas to try)are the pipes ok for snowflake or zebra eels wile there small or will they never come out if given the pipes? iam asuming with the larger two i would need like 3" pipes for them when adult?

also if anyone has had success with blue ribbons please post on how you did it :)

i think the pipes should be fine for any small to mid sized eel. its a pretty good idea i might do it for my snowflake.

You won't likely get any responses on success with those eels. You may consider learning from this and saving the eels life, time and your money.

The PVC is a good idea for the other eels. They will like it. Make sure that the ends stick out of the substrate enough that the pipes don't get filled up with sand/rocks. 1.5" is fine. Small eels (especially snowflake) don't act like they do when they get larger. Zebras are way more calm than snowflakes anyway.

Here is a pic that I found on this site a while back. My apoligies for not remembering the original poster:
