Pistol Shrimp ?

I found a small P/S in my micro bag. I place the shrimp in a holding container untill I can find a little information on it.
Is the P/S good for the tank, enough to place it back into the display tank? Or, would the shrimp be better for me if placed in the sump tank vs the display tank?

Thanks!

They are really funny to watch and as already stated perfectly reef safe. The only think to be mindful of is that they may grab items, small frags, shells etc, near their burrow entrance for building purposes, at least my tiger pistol does. Also, make sure that your rockwork is stable, i.e. it sits on top of small PVC stands or something similar, so it does not shift when the pistol digs under it.

My tiger pistol has been building himself a fortress in the rocks. He filled in all the cracks in my rock up to about 4" high on the left side of the tank. Occasionally he'll use an empty shell for building matierial. Pretty neat to watch. Other than that he leaves everything else in the tank alone.

As long as it really is a pistol I'd say keep it. :)
