Placement for Melting Ricordea

I got a Ricordea Yuma about a week ago and for the first four days it did great. It opened up and looked really nice. Then I tried moving it and around and moving the powerheads and it started melting. I removed the little strands hanging off it and now I'm wondering where I should place the Ricordea.

Should it be in higher flow or lower flow to let it heal?

Probably back where it was doing great?... Place it in low flow, low light untill it heals if it's going to heal. If it will feed. give it some thawed frozen mysis shrimp. Helps the healing process and perks them right up after division and stress. If yours was melting though you might get a baby or two but I am not sure. When you say melt thats pretty much it for a yuma. Some people have managed to siphon or clean away the continuing melt and save in that way, pieces that would become babies.

Well I read it and one of the guys said to toss the Ricordea if it's melting. Is there really no way to save it? The Ricordea that melted had two mouths and only on of them melted so far. That other half is starting to form a circle though.

Can I cut off the top of the ricordea and throw that away and hope that the foot forms a new one?

the only ricordie yuma I could grow successfully are the ugly brown kind, so I couldn't tell you where to put it :(

if they starrt to melt into eachother then they are bound to start melting themselves only if your very lucky they will heal and not melt away.

i had success by cutting away the melting tissue from the good tissue, mine healed an survived.. maybe i just got lucky..
