i have a 29 gal tank and i bought a small green mushroom. i have two 36 watts lights. does it matter where i place them. alot of the pics on here have the mushrooms placed near the bottom. also, how fast will the mushroom grow or replicate? should i glue the frag on to the rock or will it attach itself? obviously im new and any and all feedback is appreciated. thanks.

Is the mushroom on a rock currently or is it not attached to anything? What kind of lighting was it under where you bought it? If it is attached to a rock already just place the frag next to other rockwork. If it is not attached to anything you can use bridal veil mesh, place the frag on a piece or rock rubble and cover it with the mesh to secure it. the mushroom should attach itself with in a few days.

Keep it low for now, if it's not enough light it will stand up like a real mushroom, If it flattens out on the bottom it has plenty of light where it is.

it is attached to a little piece of rock right now, it is in the middle of my tank and spreads out quite a bit during the day about four times as much as it is condensed at night, the lighting at the store... i really don't know, i am a rookie. but the person at the store said it would be alright just about anywhere with my low wattage of lights, i have had it for three days now, and it has been knocked off of where i have had it, i attribute that to snails and such. but, while it is already attached to a rock, will it continuosly be in jeopardy of being knocked off? should i glue the rock to my tank rock or will it grow and attach itself? these might be stupid questions i guess put simply should i glue the frag rock to my rock?

If it likes the spot you put it on, and it keeps getting knocked off of the rocks, use some superglue GEL to attach the rock that it came on to the other rocks. Try not to get any on the mushroom though, I've heard it will burn them a lot of the time. Also, before you glue it, if you're planning on upping the wattage any time soon for more corals, you may not want to glue it, since it would hurt the mushroom if it was taken from low light and then all of a sudden had brights on them.
