Places to buy clams

In the Reef section there is a thread asking info on purchasing clams. I asked if anybody has experience with these two vendors. Their clams look pretty good and I am looking to get an unusual colored Maxima. http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com/Clams-for-Sale-Maxima-Crocea-Squamosa-Deresa-Prodlist.html and http://clammania.com/ Has anybody bought clams from these vendors? There have been zero Maxima clams in my area for about 6 months now.

I purchased from Pacific east a couple years ago. Their stuff was good then.

I have purchased form LiveAquaria's Diver's Den. I live in Wisconsin and have personally visited their facility so I trust their product quality. They have never disappointed me with their product, service, shipping, and the only 2week guarantee in the world (that I know of). No other places guarantee clams beyond a hour after the parcel's been delivered.

The last two out of three clams I ordered from DD did not make it. They honored their warranty with no problem, but I was not happy with the way the clams were shipped. There was a not enough water in the bags and too much air space. Of course I cannot prove this was the cause of the clams death. I just do not want to deal with them again with clams. After looking into Clam Mania and Pacific East, I wound up going with Pacific East. Clam Mania had some great looking clams, but I could not find any info about them online and they never answered my emails. I am very happy with Pacific so far. The communication was great, the clam was well packed, and they even called in the afternoon of the day of delivery to see if all was well. The clam is a Maxima, mostly black with shades of pink and is doing great. It has full extension of mantle and reacts to movement and light.

None of the ORA clams I got from LADD survived. I had good luck with their other clams though.
