Planning on keeping mantis shrimp the one u eat and wanted to know what is need for tank and filter

tank i getting is gonna be 2ft by 2ft by 2ft and filter i am not sure what to use and is skimmer needed. i planning on making a sump like a fresh water one with bio media and etc for lighting what should i also get

Not sure what kind of mantis are ate, but I’d probably get as big of a skimmer as possible just due to the possible messiness due to a lack of clean up crew. Lighting shouldn’t matter too much as long as you’re not keeping coral. I hope this helps some

i plan on adding a bigger sump down there but i not sure if i should get a sump as my local aquarium said is not needed
