Planning out a new build

Hello guys & gals.

I'm planning on upgrading to a 120 or 125 gallon tank in the near future. I can find these tanks. That's not the issue. What I can't find is any stands locally or online that fit them. I don't want a stand & canopy combo. I'm not fond of that look. None of my local pet stores carry any stands bigger than a 40 gallon. I've considered the all in one with the sump in cabinet (kind of like what Red Sea has to offer). They are just so expensive. I'm driving myself wild trying to find a quality stand though for a tank of this size. Can anyone help?

Is your google broken :p
No seriously ..there are quite a few online just accessible by googling "120 gallon aquarium stand"..etc...
But it would help us help you if you gave your location or descriped the type of stand you like to help narrow it down

The local fish store says they will only carry stands for 40 gallon breeders or less. No my google is not broken. I have searched. Many stands have very poor reviews, are inconsistent in their dimensions or descriptions, etc. I don't want something complicated. Just a simple stand that is of good quality and will old the tank and weight with no issues. I see so many online complaints of how crappy these stands are that I am unsure how to proceed.

Do you want a closed stand (doors,etc..) or an open metal frame?
Any color preference?

Are you handy enough to build your own? (plenty of designs you can copy from as long as you can cut boards/screw/nail..

can you give the dimensions of the tank you want?

It is true that may off the shelf offerings are made of particle board (mdf) but some are not and in general they should hold up just fine provided you aren't splashing water on them all the time.. and wipe it up when you do..

Have you seen this site?

You can also use regular "furniture" (dressers,etc...) as many/most will hold an aquarium too..

Then there is also the option to purchase "base cabinets" from Home Depot,etc.. and slap a top on it..

Please also include your location (at least let us know if you are in the US or UK or whatever so we can attempt to provide you with some relevant links that aren't across the "pond")
