Plate coral question

If anyone might have an answer I would appreciate it, I have had this coral for 2 weeks now and everything has been fine with it but tonight I turn the lights on and this this looks likes it pumped up with air like 3 times it's noral flat self. Normally it just has the tenecals hanging out of it. I this normal or is it hungry? All water peramters are great and I have been adding coral accel , andessential elements ,and DT's could this thing just be thriving?

They absorb water because they can move short distances. Keep it on the sand bed or it will fall off the rock work.

It has been in the sand the whole time I just wasn't sure if something was going wrong. sometimes I can see the mouth open to absorb food when I target feed it with Dt's. (the green stuff in the bottle) actually what is Dt's ? Plankton?

I'm not sure it will benefit from DT which is basically Phytoplankton (algae) and plates prefer zooplankton. Try feeding some cyclopezze instead.

Not to sound dumb but what is cyclopeeze? and who makes it ?

Rather than microscopic algae zooplankton is composed from small animals, larvae etc. Cyclopeeze is a feed made of frozen crustraceans similar to copepods with a very high nutritional content. It can be found frozen or freeze dried. I prefer frozen as it melts it ill stay in the water, the freeze dried floats and is carried away into the overflow unles you hydrate it for several hours before feeding. Target feeding is the best method, very small quantities (about 1/4 teaspoon for 50 gallons) are required so be careful not to overfeed. A 2 Oz frozen bar will last a long time.
