plate coral???

is there such a thing as plate coral?
i am looking for coral that grows out from reefs that looks flat, and round, and it looks like plates.
anyone know their name or is it known as plate coral??

Sounds to me, that you are talking about a "monti cap". Google it, and let us know if thats what you mean?

I think of fungia or heliofungia ( long tentacled plate corals.)

Most corals plate it just depends on the water flow...I dont remember how else told me that.
