I have sent you emails with pictures of the damaged product that i recieved. I have called numerous times only to be told that you have to put a claim in to ups. No word of a refund. I called today and was told you will check on it. I will be filing a claim with my bank and with the better business bureau if this is not resolved by the end of the week. This is going on a month long now.

Sorry about your luck bud. I only make orders from aquacave and i have never ahd a problem. Great customer service but it seems they might be falling down a little from the way you described. Have you contacted the shipping company, if so what did they say.

Aquacave told me that only a retailer can put the claim in through the shipping company. I have ordered a lot of products with aquacave, but this is the first time I needed customer service. When my package arrived, everything I ordered was damaged. I emailed them with pics, but didn't get a response back, so I called them a day later. They knew who I was and said they looked at the pictures, but they blamed me for the product being broken, saying it was installation error..... I couldn't believe my ears. The product that I ordered was vital to sustaining the life inside my reef tank. They would not send a replacement until they put the claim into to ups, and ups would then pick the package up from me, send it back, and aquacave would check the product out, and upon determining whether the product was defective, they would then send a replacement. I ended up having to place a order with another vender, and have the shipping expedited in order to keep my tank inhabitants alive.

4 ati bulbs. My tank was in the dark for 2 weeks. I had to order the bulbs through another online vender. My account has finally been credited, this issue has been resolved.

"My tank was in the dark for 2 weeks."

If the item(s) were "Critical" to keeping your tank alive, why didn't you buy them locally or keep your old bulbs? Seems that bulbs would be a relatively risky thing to ship, breakage here and there would be expected...

I've worked with AC in the past and they've been reasonable

He didnt buy them locally because no one local has ATI bulbs. Your right, bulbs can break during shipping, that dosent mean that aqua cave shouldnt stand behind their product and give him a refund right away or replace the damaged items.

respect to Aquacave IMO

Lets all agree Loki is a honest person and made a claim for damaged lamps, and it have taken a few weeks to resolve the claim

which is a shame for Loki and his tank, but none the less, resolved it is

lets now look at this from a vendors perspective

not everyone is as honest as Loki

maybe some people have 4 old ATI lamps that are due to be replaced
they order 4 new lamps

the package arrives perfectly
they unpack the new lamps
they pack up the old lamps
they throw the carton about
they claim their order arrived damaged

Aquacave, naturally want to check with UPS
and they may well want to check the product, and ensure they are in fact the same lamps they sent out

Aquacave have done exactly what they need to do, under these type of circumstances

In my opinion

Old thread, I understand. But after reading this, I can't help but throw in my .02.

I worked in CS for quite a while myself so I'm aware that there are a lot of dishonest people out there who try to find creative ways to lie and cheat businesses. Precautions can and should be taken but you should never, ever treat someone badly because of what you think they might be up to. It's innocent until proven guilty and NOT the other way around. If a vendor treats every customer like they're scumbags like one you described above, I would never do any business with that vendor.
