Have you researched ich? Cryptocaryon irritans? Are you sure it's ich and not marine velvet. Do you have any pics?

What are you feeding the tang?

(if you haven't already) id recommend that you invest in a quality vitamin and soak some nori or other marine algae in it and feed your tang numerous times a day until it recovers.

most people like to use clips/magfloats for the nori- I personally just chop it up into small pieces and feed w/ a turkey baster a few times a day. I do this for many reasons. I feed manually so that the nori isnt leaching phosphates into the water column all day and so that the nutritional content is greater because the algae isnt soaking in 80degree water for minutes before being consumed. also because my f/m tomato clown is an absolute hog - i have found target feeding the nori allows me to make sure everyone gets a good meal.

hope your tang pulls through! is it a powder blue tang?

If you do pull your fish out of the display- please do it as peacefully as possible! figure out where it sleeps, and kick on your moonlights/flashlight during your night cycle and catch it by surprise- rather than chasing it for hours and potentially inflicting more stress/damage.
see this article for more on capturing.
