Please help! Chalice is whited out

Hello everyone!
I'm new to this hobby and trying to have a good looking tank but kind of hard for me. I have my tank for about 3 months with some cheap and easy to keep and everything doing fine, so yesterday I bought Candy Cane and Chalice to try out. The Candy Cane is doing fine but the Chalice is whited out just the time I have put in my tank.
Shop owner said that it should be stress and it will recover if I put it at the bottom of the tank, is that right? What else should I do to make it recover faster, thanks.

In the shop it looks like this:

In my tank:

To start the lighting looks very different. That can make a huge difference in the way a coral looks.

Also check your alk/cal/ph/salinity and anything else you can. When my alk starts to shift I have a few corals that show it sooner than others and one is a chalice.
