Please help Corner Over Flow vs Center Overflow

Hi,
I am going to start drilling my 40 gallon aga reef tank. I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of having my overflow in the middle vs the corner? I would like to incorporate a Sea Swirl in my Closed Loop. I have a Quiet One 5000 for my closed loop with T connectors to direct water via loc line around the tank. I would like to incorporate the Sea Swirl in there for Random Flow. I have a Quiet One 3000 for my return from my sump. Would it be harder to direct the fish waste and debris to a corner overflow vs a middle over flow? Or would it even matter? Corner vs Middle?

I would think that surface skimming is more effective in the centre but I not sure that it would be significant in a 40g.

A corner overflow may leave a greater central area for aquscaping. A centre overflow is easier for hiding pipes.

Which is easier for undertank piping?

I think a corner overlfow is less disruptive to the layout of your aquascaping, as mentioned, and surface skimming will be the same.
