It is a spotted goatfish and I got it for cleanup duty for my 150 gallon predator tank, i am worried as she is not remotely intererested in any food, I have offered her literally a gourmet of choices, occasionally she will take some in her mouth and then spit it back out but will not swallow, she is getting skinnier everyday, besides this she has been doing fine active and spunky, the first few days I was ot worried as maybe some transition stress , now is getting problematic, any suggestions> thanks very concerend

:(

I am hoping they did not use cyanide or poison to harvest her

for trade which i heard is a common practice in the exotic fish trade:mad:

Are you providing the right foods? Check this out:

You didn't list what foods you've tried so it is hard to suggest new/different ones, unless you want us to spend our time trying to guess all the foods you should try? :D

Try appetite stimulants like garlic juice (must be fresh):

and vitamins. Add a vitamin supplement directly to the water.

Try an 80%+ water change everyday. Sometimes this 'shocks' the fish into eating.

How large is the QT? Your fish could be stressed out. As a result, it will refuse food.

Why is it in quarintine? If the fish is not eating in a routine quarintine for new fish, you have three options. Take the fish out of the QT and just place him in the main tank (not recomended). Buy a bigger QT. Or give the fish a freshwater bath and put him in the main tank.
