Found this critter in my tank tonight.... I'm assuming it's bad, so I took it out. Can't decide whether to put it in with the wrasse and let the wrasse eat it or not. If you have some idea of what it is, I'd appreciate it.

Well from from the pic it's hard to say anything more than that it's some sort of snail. There's no way to tell whether it's good or bad from the pics. I suspect from the general shape though that it might not be bad. Try putting it in a shallow bowl of water and taking a picture of it from the top down in a well lit area. If there is a macro setting (looks like a flower) on your camera, use that.

Hehehehe.... That's exactly how the first pic was taken - top down in a shallow bowl of water with the macro lens. The next two were taken out of the water with the macro. Unfortunately, the camera just doesn't seem to get any better than that.

If you'll back off enough to let the camera focus, the snail will be a small part of the pic, but....you should be able to crop it and still have a big enough pic to give you a good chance of getting it ID'ed. Some of these "macro" cameras make you back off at least 18", try that and see if it works?

Cheers,

Don
