Please help me with my skimmer not working

OK this is the problem. I have a coralife 65 super skimmer and I thought the rio pump had gone on it. So I bought a Sedra 3500 needle wheel to replace it. I hooked it up and I seem to be having the same issue as before. The pump is working but I am not getting any micro bubbles only larger bubbles. I could use some help to figure out what is going on. I have cleaned everything and now I am at a loss as to what else I could be missing to get this skimmer to work.

Don't know why some of the guys here with a CSS didn't answer, however, you may want to consider going with a meshwheel mod on your impeller. Before that you could try regulating the air going into the current pump. You may find throttling back the air with a valve will cause your bubbles to be finer. You could try the fishing line wound around the original pump as another alternative. YMMV.
