Hello sps keepers!!! How are you????

So...I´m relative new in sps keeping...but for my new project I want to keep some of this wonderfull corals...I´m working to keep all parametres perfect because I know that is not a easy task keep good colors !!!
Searching in this forum I saw thousands of different and beautifull species..but for now i´m interested in "common beauty".. My reef isn´t too large is just 50 gals and I prefer keep few species with big size colonies than many species.
I really want a reef with some common and beautiful sps...I´m thinking in something like 8-10 species. I want colorful and relative easy care species...8 to 10 ( not rare ones) species (blues, greens, orange, purple and red)...(acros, stylo, mont, poci, seriat, echinoph.)

Anyone can help me with my stocklist????
Do you have a list of ten common and beautiful sps species to help me????

Pictures a VERY welcome too!!!!!:lol2:

Thank you SO much to everyone!!!! Sorry for my terrible english..

Monti caps are easiest to keep and also grow faster than others.

I basically get what I think looks good, dont think I have ever planned on what to get lol

get 1 piece, and wait for a month, see how it goes, is it keeping colro ir it growing ... and then add another one.

Thank's Allmost....

I have a wishlist:

M.Capricornis (gree and orange)
Pocillopora damicornis (green, purple, pink)
Millepora (green, blue and purple)
A. Valida
Seriatophora hystix
Echinata blue (or other blue acropora)
Maybe...some echinophylla...I don't know each specie...

What do you think?

Best regards

D.

Try to find the Leng Sy Montipora. It's a montipora capricornis that grows well and contains the GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) that makes green corals fluoresce under actinic lighting. It's easy to keep and looks good under almost any lighting. Monti's are great starter SPS, because they will grow in almost any condition.

This particular color morph should appear a fluorescent green with a light rim, sometimes even a purple rim under the right conditions. It's named after my friend Leng Sy.

Since he's in Brazil, I think he's going to have hard time finding our American 'name brand' or ORA corals ;)

If you're looking for common, hardy corals, I'd stay way from the echinata. Stick to species like

A. Tenuis
A. Tortuosa
A. Prostrata
A. Microphthalma
A. Formosa
A. Milliopora
A. Valida
A. Nana
A. Solitaryensis
M. Capricornis
M. Digitata
S. Hystix
P. Damicornis

You seem to be on the right track :D

My top 6 personal favorites are...

Oregon tort(my personal fave)
Karls Candlight (really bright neon green)
Acropora kimbeensis
ORA German Blue Polyp
Acropora valida
sunrise millipora

Good luck, Mike:smokin:

You should buy anything that looks nice to you, it's personal preference whether you like reds or blues.

With the proper equipment that you already have, husbandry is all up to you.
If you want to spend 3 minutes feeding your corals or 3 hours doing a water change.

Even if the coral does die or have some issues, then you can learn through your mistakes, and try again.

Here are some very colorful and easy to keep sps in my opinion...

Orange montipora capricornus (they steal space over time)
Pink/purple or green stylophora (cat's paw)
green slimer (acropora yongei)
Blue tort (acropora tortuosa)
acropora millipora (many colors to choose from)
green or pink birdnest (seriatopora)

hope that helps..
