I have received a new frag today and it is my first one I do not know what to do. Do I take it off of the frag-plug? How do I get it to stay?

Boysenberry Acropora
Green Slimer Acropora
Microthalma

hose are the frags I received I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance

Thanks,
John

yes leave it on the plug and place it somewhere with decent flow but not enough to blow it over. you can also use a drop of super glue gel to secure it to a larger rock

+1 for both of the above mentioned posts. picked up some pretty demanding frags right off the jump. is your tank still cycling like it mentions in your profile?...

No tank has cycled I figured they would be a bit of a challange. I try to do my home work but was caught off gaurd by how fast the week went by. So, I will continue to study tonight. Thank you all for the feedback I love this site there are still decent people in the world that don't try to get something for anything they do or offer.

Most people probably leave them on the plug, probably the best course of action with your first frags. Sometimes the little peg on the bottom allows you to place the frag securely in a naturally occuring little hole in your live rock. You can wrap a little marine epoxy around that little peg to help secure it in the hole also. If you want to glue the frag on a relatively flat spot on the rock, you can clip that peg off the bottom of the frag plug. I have used sturdy junk scissors or tin snips (maybe someone has a better way). The coral can be out of water for a few minutes. Here is a link to a thread about glueing frags that I found to be very helpful.
