please help with alk/kh brs sada ash

trying to get my alk up in about 175 gal of water I am using a LaMotte test kit getting a reading of 6 dkh so I buffer with brs soda ash and the calculater on there web sight says I need to add 800ml to get my dkh to 8 does this sounf right ? this is my first big tank and I never had to add this much buffer

No that is not correct. It looks like you chose meq/l instead of dkh. I would start with 110ml today and retest tomorrow. 110ml should get you to 7dkh. Then do the calculator tomorrow to get to 8dkh
