I was finally able to nab this little guy. It is purpleish in color with white dots on its legs. It is sleek not hairy and has fairly large claws for its size. What is it? Is it a good hitchhiker or bad hitchhiker? Thanks.
I had one of the same with my rock. It is some kind of a rock crab. Very pretty, but likely a cold-blooded opportunistic feeder as are most rock crabs. Mine went in the sump and eventually the mantis took him out.
That is a stone crab and they are cute small but deadly when they get big. I had one and almost ripped my hole tank apart getting him out when he started eating corals. Lucky you got him small.
