Plumbing Advice

Just picked up a180 and will be making the transfer tomorrow. There are 2 overflows with what appears to be 2 1" holes in each overflow. What is "best" routing for the plumbing? I am sure there are options looking for the possibilities. I have to get set-up tomorrow do to going out of town Monday, plan to research tonight, would like input as well.
Thanks,
Scott

Okay, I am really confused. Looks like I probably have 1" drains and 3/4" returns, 1 per overflow. It appears the general trend is to use one 3/4" for the return leaving the other 3/4" for a drain. I also think I need to have one of the 1" be a siphon, with the other, along with the remaining 3/4" being emergency drains. Is that the basic gist of dual-2 hole overflows?

On my 125, I have two 1" drains, 1 in each overflow, and a single 3/4 return plumbed over the top. It works great. Can be noisy at times but it's in the 2nd living room so that's fine. If you want to cut down on noise, run a herbie in each and plumb the return over the top. So you'd have 1" main drain in each, 3/4 emergency in each, and then whatever size pipe you want for the return over the top.

Thanks stingeragent. How tall in the overflow are your drains and how tall in overflow should the emergency drains be?

Well in my setup I have no emergency drains. In a typical herbie, the emergency will be just above the waterline in your overflow ( have to use a gate valve on the main drain to regulate the height)

Now I am dreaming about this stuff-lol. I assume that the top hole in the herbie drain also doubles as the siphon break? I am reading several posts that show the siphon drain 6" below the water level in the tank. My simple mind says 6" of water (which in a 180 is a large amount) will go to the sump possibly (probably) flooding the floor. What am I missing here? Should I join the two siphons together with one valve for adjustment or run separate lines with a valve in each line? Final question (just kidding-lol), should I use the 3/4" for the siphon drain and 1" for the emergency drain?

Ok figured out the overflow box has an internal weir limiting amount of water going to the sump. I plan to use the 3/4 for siphon drain and 1" for emergency drain.

Only open question is should I combine the two siphons with one valve or two lines all the way to the sump with valve on each line?
