I am setting up a closed loop that I expect to run from the pump, up the back of the tank and over the top back into the water. The tank will not be drilled. My question is can I connect flex pipe to pvc? I want to run pvc from the pump to the back of the tank and then connect the flex pipe and run it up and over the back of the tank back into the water. If possible, how do I make the connection?

I have flex pvc connected to regular PVC on my HOB overflow (the bulkhead part to be exact) and it fits it very well. And it also takes out any 90 degree elbows that regular pvc would have had on my setup.
I just use the reinforced stuff since thats the only thing big enough to fit my bulkhead. But on my return i use another type of flex pvc (dont even think its pvc...just rubbery-plasticy tubing lol)

For the flex pvc around my bulkhead i didnt even glue it. I'm just using one of those metal clamp things...like the zip-tie sort of thing but metal and there's a screw on it that tightens it you know?

yes it is a little thinner but if you clean,prime and glue it right,it will seal just fine.i have my closed loop glued with clear glue,i run a dart pump(3600gph)and no leaks at all.no visible salt creep from any of the joints.actually the blue is designed to be used where the pipes are already wet,like retrofitting a sprinkler system.
