I did my closed loop today and when I started it up I have a leek.
what I need to know is there any way to stop this without draining and reworking the joint?
any suggestions would be appreciated
thanks

You've got a LEAK....and they do sell some stuff that will stop the leak from the outside...I've got some that is sort of a roll of cloth soaked water activated epoxy . It's not cheap and it's ugly, but it works. Having said that, I would drain (or plug the pipes from the inside of the tank) and redo the LEAKing joint.

Joe,
As Rod suggests, cap the bulhead from the inside of the tank and drain the pipe.
I'd suggest wrapping the leaking joint in a bandage of some kind of gauze and Plumber's Goop, apply the goop and wrap once in the gauze so that is becomes impregnated, about three applications gives a nice secure repair, give it an hour between layers. Takes about 12 hours to cure, but 24 is better. I use the bags from Phosban, but any "bridal veil" or sheer curtain material works great.

Joe,
Thinking this i long term project, i'd go with a redo.
Why try to fix a leak, when you can prevent it from the start?

All and all you can get new pvc, replumb and be up and running in an hour!
Just my opinion of course.

Hope you get it going........:)

I am so close I can taste it but some of it will be hard to replace as i am room restriced to add a coupler may not be possible

Is the bulkhead leaking or the plumbing on the outside of the bulkhead? I'm sorry if this has been answered, but I was very bemused by the leek picture.

c'mon Joe....I thought you'd at least appreciate the teamsters logo....I could have used IBEW, ya know.....

Hey Joe....got the leek ficksed yet? If not, you could stop by and get some of the patch stuff I mentioned earlier. I've still got some in my garage. LMK.

I actually think I will take the stuff apart and rework it I think I need to fix it right to avoid problems later when the tanks against the wall and I cant get to it
