Hi all.
First question of many. I'm trying to build a.Bean animal drain. Will a tee work fine for the drain, or do I have to use a sanitary tee to make it perform correctly?

Any tee all work. The sanitary tee will provide a smoother turn, less loss, and may be quieter.

Well ill look for a sanitary tee online. Im sure ill need other fittings too.

Will this work for my return? Should i install a couple of unions between the valves and return pump? Any opinion t welcome

Yes, but you're gonna need a pump in there.

So pump is added... i finished gluing the return. My next step is to glue the drain. It will be a bean animal setup.
Before i glue it all up i need your opinion

What size pipes are those and what flows are you running? I only see 2 drains there - do you have a 3rd?

The drains r one inch. No third on the drain. 2 returns 3/4. Pump will be syncra sicce 5.0

I beleive you should have 3 drains, 2 main drains and 1 for backup

A bean requires 3 drains. If you only have 2 it's not a bean.

Also I'd do some head loss calcs on your returns. ¾" is pretty restrictive. You may be better off going up to 1".

Thanks for the input. Maybe my next build will go with 3 drains. I never heard of a 1 inch return on such a small tank. Im very new to salt so its just me...idk
