I would use an overflow in each corner with a 1.5" drain and 1" return in each overflow box. Keep in mind you are going to have to plumb so both drains fall into the same section of the sump, and then I would use 1 return pump that pumps to the center of underneath the tank, T's off and separates back to each return line. That way you only have to use 1 return pump. Of course, if you want to use 2 externals, you would have the benefit of a working backup, in case one goes out while your not home. Return pump failure is not that big of a deal though, and isn't something that would destroy your tank while your at work, as long as you have other powerheads that will continue to work in the tank.
